From $5,000 to $50,000 – Why Websites and Development Costs Vary
We often have clients come to us with various quotes from other website design firms. They often wonder why the price can be so different for a quote for the same project.
The first step to getting started and understanding the process is to research. Look at various companies and designers, make sure they’re willing to answer questions and explain all of the technical mumbo jumbo that can make a project cost more or less. Have them walk through the quote with you to understand what you’re paying for.
Then, decide whether you want to go with a freelancer or an agency. While freelancers can often have cheaper pricetags, they often can’t offer the breadth that an agency can. Freelancers are often very good at what they do, but they are an expert in one area—not everything that encompasses marketing and website design. Agencies, on the other hand, have employees with various skill sets and levels of expertise.
Next, you need to determine the core features you want. Sure, you may want a stunning video on the homepage, but is the expense worth it? Maybe you need online shopping capabilities or you just need a simple site with a contact form. The more functionality you want, the higher the price tag.
If you’ve done your research, it’s time to start shopping. Let us know if you’re looking for website design or digital marketing, and we can assist you.
